รับราชการ

พระเจ้าพี่นางเธอ พระองค์เจ้าโสมาวดี ทรงดำรงตำแหน่งอธิบดีบังคับบัญชาการรักษาพระราชวังฝ่ายในและทรงดูแลกรมโขลน อีกทั้งยังทรงรับอภิบาลสมเด็จพระบรมโอรสาธิราช เจ้าฟ้ามหาวชิรุณหิศ สยามมกุฎราชกุมาร อีกทั้งพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว ยังโปรดเกล้าฯ ให้พระองค์ทรงดูแลรักษากุญแจพระบรมมหาราชวังชั้นใน มาตลอดรัชกาล
