สมเด็จพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอ เจ้าฟ้าจักรพงษ์ภูวนาถ กรมหลวงพิษณุโลกประชานาถ เป็นพระราชโอรสในพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ ๕ และสมเด็จพระศรีพัชรินทราบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ประสูติเมื่อวันที่ ๓ มีนาคม พ.ศ. ๒๔๒๕ ซึ่งเมื่อนับตามแบบปัจจุบันตรงกับ พ.ศ. ๒๔๒๖
พระองค์ทรงเป็นพระราชโอรสพระองค์สำคัญพระองค์หนึ่งในกลุ่มพระราชโอรสและพระราชธิดาที่ประสูติแต่สมเด็จพระศรีพัชรินทราบรมราชินีนาถ ได้แก่

The restored and creatively reimagined image in this collection is a royal portrait of His Royal Highness Prince Chakrabongse Bhuvanath, Prince of Phitsanulok Prachanat (สมเด็จพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอ เจ้าฟ้าจักรพงษ์ภูวนาถ กรมหลวงพิษณุโลกประชานาถ) wearing the full-dress uniform of a cadet of the Imperial Russian Corps of Pages, from the period when he was sent to study military science at the Corps des Pages in Russia at around sixteen years of age.
This image has been created from the original black-and-white royal photograph, together with historical research into the uniform of the Corps des Pages of the Russian Empire. The reconstruction draws upon printed images and contemporary documents from the reign of King Chulalongkorn (พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว), as well as surviving original uniforms preserved in Russian museums and military collections.
The original royal photograph was in fact a group portrait taken with Nai Phum and his tutor. AI Fashion Lab has reimagined it as a single portrait, and has further developed it into full-length standing and seated versions, including an interpretation with the full ceremonial helmet, in order to present the complete visual structure of the uniform more fully.

Costume
The costume worn in this image is the full-dress uniform of a cadet of the Russian Imperial Corps of Pages, a uniform distinguished by its elegance, discipline, and clear reflection of the ceremonial traditions of the Romanov court guards.
The principal garment is a dark green tunic, fitted at the waist and cut long enough to fall slightly over the hips, giving the silhouette the slim, poised, and proportionate appearance characteristic of European military uniforms of the period.
It has a high standing collar, and the front is decorated with multiple rows of horizontal gold braid across the chest, in a style reminiscent of cavalry or guard regiments in Central Europe and Russia. Each row is finished with angled ends, while gilt metal buttons run down the centre front. This arrangement strongly emphasises the ceremonial nature of the uniform, combining splendour with strict military order.
The shoulder boards are red, embroidered in gold, and adorned with gilt insignia. The cuffs are also decorated with gold braid set against a red ground.
He wears white or pale ivory knee-breeches, the lower part tucked into a pair of tall black leather boots rising to just below the knee. The polished surface and firm structure of the boots are typical of cavalry or full-dress military footwear. The uniform is completed with a sabre, and with a ceremonial helmet topped with a white horsehair plume, decorated with the Romanov double-headed eagle.

Historical Context
In 1897, King Chulalongkorn (พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว) made his first journey to Europe and visited Tsar Nicholas II of Russia (สมเด็จพระจักรพรรดินิโคลัสที่ ๒), who had long been his royal friend. Earlier, while still Crown Prince, Nicholas had visited Siam between 20 and 24 March 1890, where he was received with great honour by the Siamese court.
After ascending the Russian throne, the Tsar wished to strengthen relations between the two royal courts even further, and encouraged King Chulalongkorn to send one of his sons to continue his education in Russia, where he would be cared for almost as a member of the Romanov family.
Accordingly, in June 1898, King Chulalongkorn decided that His Royal Highness Prince Chakrabongse Bhuvanath, Prince of Phitsanulok Prachanat (สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกยาเธอ เจ้าฟ้าจักรพงษ์ภูวนาถ กรมขุนพิษณุโลกประชานาถ), who was at that time already studying in England, should proceed to further his education at the Corps des Pages in Russia, in accordance with the wishes of Tsar Nicholas II.

Brief Biography
His Royal Highness Prince Chakrabongse Bhuvanath, Prince of Phitsanulok Prachanat (สมเด็จพระเจ้าบรมวงศ์เธอ เจ้าฟ้าจักรพงษ์ภูวนาถ กรมหลวงพิษณุโลกประชานาถ) was a son of King Chulalongkorn, Rama V (พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ ๕) and Queen Saovabha Phongsri, the Queen Mother (สมเด็จพระศรีพัชรินทราบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง). He was born on 3 March 1882, which, under modern calendrical reckoning, corresponds to 1883.
He was one of the most prominent royal children born to Queen Saovabha Phongsri. His full siblings were:

In 1892, he was granted the title His Royal Highness Prince Chakrabongse Bhuvanath (สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกยาเธอ เจ้าฟ้าจักรพงษ์ภูวนาท). He later went to study in England before moving to the court of Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, where he entered the Corps des Pages, the elite military academy of the Russian Empire.
He excelled in his studies, graduating with the highest distinction. While residing in Europe, he also performed important royal duties as the King’s representative on several major occasions, including attendance at the funeral of King Umberto I of Italy, and at the coronation of King George V and Queen Mary of the United Kingdom.
After returning to Siam, he entered military service during the reign of King Chulalongkorn and held several important posts, eventually becoming Major General, Royal Aide-de-Camp, and Chief of the General Staff. In the reign of King Vajiravudh, Rama VI, he was further elevated to even higher office, eventually becoming General, Field Marshal, Royal Aide-de-Camp, and Privy Councillor, and for a period he was also regarded as being in line for the succession.
His Royal Highness Prince Chakrabongse Bhuvanath, Prince of Phitsanulok Prachanat died in Singapore on 13 June 1920, while on military duty, at the age of thirty-eight. In that same year, he was posthumously honoured with the title Somdet Phra Anuchathirat, Prince Chakrabongse Bhuvanath, Prince of Phitsanulok Prachanat (สมเด็จพระอนุชาธิราช เจ้าฟ้าจักรพงษ์ภูวนาถ กรมหลวงพิษณุโลกประชานาถ), was granted the honour of the five-tiered white umbrella, and became the progenitor of the Chakrabongse (จักรพงษ์) family line.
